It has been a whirlwind of a year and a half since Mineralogy opened its doors in June 2015. I am incredibly grateful to the neighborhood for your support and interest in my work along with everyone online. From customers to followers on Instagram, you have all made this possible and have celebrated the whimsy that is Mineralogy.

I am excited for the facelift the studio + shop has received recently. When I opened, it was VERY minimal with a few vintage pieces from South Loop Loft and a gorgeous spalted maple table by the awesome Iron & Oak Domestics. I'm excited about our new isoceles triangle shelf handcrafted out of reclaimed pine by my friends at Norman Leigh. They had to build special equipment just to create this piece because of its size and weight...truly a masterpiece.

Since the opening, the shop has slowly but surely evolved into the tranquil, artful space that it is today. Candles are burning, friends are meeting, lovers hold hands, couples plan their futures, and heirloom jewelry is handcrafted here. It's a place filled with laughter and so much love it makes my heart hurt in the best way possible.

Last year, my husband helped me move in and we somehow survived the heavy lifting and "joy" that's involved with moving. My parents have helped work various events;their dog Annie has been shop dog on occasion, my brother drove over 3 hours with my little niece and nephew to surprise me on my grand opening, and my younger brother met with me to design his engagement ring for his fiancé. Recently, I've been joined by a wonderful young woman, Hayley, who is my online content, design and production assistant and master of many trades. She has made the "I" in my stories become "we." I'm excited to introduce her to you very soon!

There is so much that has gone into this little 500 square foot space in the last 18 months and I'm eager for all that is yet to come. It's a labor of love and I wouldn't trade it for the world. I am so thankful to Marco of Alapash who moved on to bigger digs and left me this little gem of a place. It truly feels like home.
