Peach Sapphires
Peach sapphires, apricot sapphires, padparadscha sapphires….these are all types of sapphires you have surely heard of across instagram, whispers of friends sharing their engagement ring wishes, and that elusive stone you wish you knew more about.
These sapphires are among the more rare of the sapphire colors…the apricot sapphires that we use are predominantly from Sri Lanka, Montana, and once and awhile Madagascar. These sapphires obtain their color from trace elements of iron and chromium present in the corundum which contribute to the variety of peachy, champagne, and blush tones that look so lovely with different skin tones and metals alike.
We love the range of pastel tones found in peach sapphires making them a beautiful pastel colored element to add into a ring design and an excellent diamond center stone alternative. Sapphires are a nice choice for engagement rings since they 9 on the Mohs scale and are almost as hard as diamonds; durable for daily wear.
