Engagement Stories—Brandi + John
Brandi and John came to us loving one of our sapphire + diamond designs and wanted to create a version of the design or the same design with an apricot sapphire in the center. They were thinking of adding champagne diamonds in for a bit of depth in color.
Fast forward to our consultation date, Brandi and John were gifted a special diamond from John’s grandmother that came from a pair of earrings that she had. They weren’t quite sure about using it since Brandi really loved the idea of an apricot sapphire as a center stone. During the consultation, we decided on a design with a sapphire center and with the possibility of switching that to their heirloom diamond. Brandi didn’t know how she felt about having an all diamond ring. Penny enjoyed supervising the design decisions during their consultations and John had a cool digital rangefinder camera that he documented the process of our consultation.
After submitting our primary illustrations, Brandi and John decided that it was important to include their heirloom in the design. I was happy that they chose to use the diamond…it’s so special to see pieces from family members passed on and repurposed into something new that symbolizes the joining of two people as they begin a journey of life and love together.
Brandi and John were able to share the design process with their family and most importantly with their grandmother. The day after I submitted the 3D renderings for them to review, they responded with how much they loved the design and how the email came at special time for them as they had just attended the funeral for the unexpected passing of their grandmother who gifted the diamond to them.
I couldn’t be more honored to create such a special piece with Brandi and John to celebrate their future and honor their family. Thank you Brandi and John for such a memorable experience, it was so special to work with you.
